SINGERS CORNER

In the shopping mall Nordstan, Gothenburg, Sweden the piece Singers corner had its first performance, this during a live broadcast in P2 during the P2 Music City Gothenburg, 2005.

Mossenmark had positioned a number of microphones around the mall, in a tobacco shop, a fish store and a shoe shop. There were also two microphones placed in the passages where people passed.
Here, the passing people was urged to take the chance of singing in live radio.
There were no requirements about what to sing, or whether they thought of them selves as good singers or not.

Mossenmark then mixed these sound recordings live into an ambient soundscape and created a sound veave, for the voluntary singers, and all of this during the five minutes it was broadcasted.

A remix was also composed for another P2 airing.
The piece was commissioned by Swedish Radio, P2.
